The Milford Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department  is staffed by dedicated highly trained citizens who are committed to serving their community. The volunteers regularly attend classes to update skills and become certified in specialized fields of medical treatment and fire-fighting techniques. The equipment is up-to-date and well maintained.

The department has 36 members, who provide fire and rescue services to a 114 square mile area. They also provide mutual aid to all of Seward County.
